Digital competence is a cross-functional key skill that enables people to use information and communication technologies confidently, critically and creatively in order to achieve their goals in the areas of work, education, employability, leisure, integration and social participation. As a student on a degree programme or participant in a continuing education course at BFH, this can mean, for example, finding the required information for tasks online, critically assessing source material or creating effective presentations using digital tools.This self-assessment tool helps students and continuing education participants to identify their strengths and weaknesses and become aware of their digital skills. Based on the European Digital Competence Framework for Citizens (DigComp 2.2) and the self-reflection tool developed for it (DigCompSAT), this self-assessment is divided into five competence areas consisting of 21 skills.

BFH teaching staff intending to integrate this self-assessment tool into their course or project can contact the Virtual Academy (virtuelle.akademie@bfh.ch) to have a specific group of participants created and receive the relevant data.
The data may be used by BFH (e.g. for reports, development of continuing education programmes, research purposes). When BFH uses data for the purposes noted above, any personal data is anonymised.
